Honestly, I hate balloons, I'm just no good at them.
I have been trying to learn, but alot of the designs out there are soooo hard and it takes me soooo long to make. So I was wondering, what are the true standards?
I can make pretty simple things like a dog, poodle, bear, tiger, giraffe, flower, heart, sword. what do you reccomend learning in addition to these? what designs are most popular for you?
and... do I really have to learn how to make a motorcycle?

You don't "have to" do anything Are you talking about a 1 balloon motorcycle? I don't do one balloon pieces, so I'm not the best person to answer...a motorcycle could be good (when I didn't have flash cards - actually even when I did, sometimes - they'd ask about motorcycles or bikes like they're really funny (we've all seen Wedding Crashers, right?!), so it's nice to be all, "actually yes I can!" There's a simple 2 balloon bug bracelet (can be 1 if you nix the antennae) that's cute. A 1 balloon monkey (essentially a diff head on the dog w a long tail...). A tall swirly hat is fun and fast.

I think if it's too hard to make, I'd move on.
I make the sword, dog, hat, heart wand, wings, butterfly. Things I don't make yet, but have had kids request are giraffe, teddy bear and spider... so far, no motorcyle requests. I recently learned how to make a fish on a fishing pole and it was really popular that whole day. I've since forgotten and would probably need to brush up on it.

I've been working on an alligator, but haven't offered it, because I can't seem to get the proportions right. I always seem to run out of tail, or it gets so tight by the time I get to the tail area that I'm afraid to twist it. Living in gator country it would be a popular balloon I think. I got a special request for it last night. After painting the Florida gators logo on one child, the dad requested I twist a gator. I said I've been working on a gator, but can't guarantee how it will turn out. I went for it and as usual, by the time I got to the tail area, it was a tight stub. The kid kept saying, "what is it?". That's never a good sign. I used my marker to add detail and the dad said that made all the difference. Looks like I'll be working on my gator today!

The Florida Gators. I was working on my balloon gator today, when someone stopped over to buy some face paint. He ended up whipping out some one balloon creations that he does. One was his gator. Pretty fun, we had a short balloon jam! I took pictures, so I'll try to find time to post them tomorrow. They were nothing elaborate, just a few quick one balloon thingies.

Learn wow designs and you'll never go back to one balloon animals again! That's your warning. Haha. I could adapt a Batman from my Generic Superhero (lol) but that's a more advanced one, IE I don't do it at birthdays: How about a princess wand? Do you have 6" hearts? What pump do you use?

Haha there's a couple trick twists in the head; other than that, standard body, more or less. Easy and fun bee (need yellow 321's with the black tip) Adorable hippo - easy if you know the teddy bear head...? Deluxe ray gun (the name made more sense when I had a "regular" ray gun as well...lol) Want SBSs for any of those?
