Paradise is the one major brand I haven't tried and was thinking about carrying it at the start of next year. Anyone familiar with the product prefer it? I was surprised when I spoke with a local artist that he made a face and shook his head when I brought it up. This made me more curious about it. Anyone have any reasons on why they like or dislike Paradise?

Yes, it is Paradise AQ by Mehron. Its best quality is the coconut smell-everyone seems to love it. The colours are nice and vibrant, they dry really quickly, have good staying power and wash off really easily. I use mostly snaz on kids because of the safety rating but I use the paradise black and white for details because they cover so much better. I like the size of the pots but I also like the small 8 pack compacts b/c they are really sturdy and compact for travel and have a great mirror. Even the brush that comes with the compact is of good quality. I'll post some pix later. D

Here are a few samples of Paradise products, I sponged a quick streak of each of the colours from the pastel case and used the black and white for details just to give a quick idea of the paint.

Oh yes Paradise/Mehron paints are GORGEOUS I love them. The metallics are brilliant strong colours great for linework as well as bases. The flat coloures are beautiful too, I particularly like the Lime green, dark green( called Amazon I think ), dark and light pink and the dark purple ( called wild orchid I think ). I mix the black with my Snaz black to intensify the Snaz. I personally love the smell like cocoa-nutty suntan lotion mixed with chocolate Mmmm, but some hate it for that very reason, if you can small it before you buy it.

I absolutly love my Paradise. They are my favourite. They never get stick or gummy and they go on so smoothly.

Nice! I didn't realize the Paradise was so vibrant. The one artist I saw using them, must have had a more shimmery muted palette... a bit different from what I'm seeing here.

i'm slowly being drawn into paradise... unfortunately I do not like the smell, but really like the texture... I think the texture is a cross between snaz and wolfe.
it's not soft yet not hard.... i like that... but darn those coconuts!

Really, I think I'd love the coconut smell. I also love the smell of Kryolan... mmmm. It's funny, I was visiting with a local face painter and as he was bringing his paints out to show me. He handed a few to me and I noticed that the first thing I did was smell them and then look. I caught myself doing this and got a little embarassed. I thought, "Sherry, what are you doing? This guys going to wonder why you're sniffing all his face paint." hee hee

Paradise and Diamond FX and Wolfe the same? I haven't tried Mahron yet...don't care for the stickyness if Snaz...they always seem gloppy to me...at least what i have is...but they have a good variety of colors!...

I do have Paradise Black and White, those two colors are the only ones I have ever used. They are amazing for line work. I have seen work done with the other colors, they are very bright and bold. But I am sold on Diamond FX!

Paradise is the one brand that I feel is truly all purpose. It feels great as a base and does excellent line work. Some other brands feel dry and yucky as a base but not Paradise. Plus it smells so yummy.
