Isn't it?  It kind of gave me some inspiration to try some more free hand designs.  I bought one of their taklon brushes at the convention to try it out.  Now if only I could find the time!  Smiley  Things have been busy.

Whilst I remember - all these were black mica freehand tatts.
Catx
(Oh and if you are interested in jewels, this was the finale of a v posh event, and the dancers were dressed in real diamonds flown out from the Uk - then each assigned a bodyguard - and we reckoned from sneaky looks at the tags as we touched up their paint, that there is about 1 million 900,000UK worth of bling in the photo).

 Shocked  Whoa.  Impressive!

I hesitate to do freehand because I don't know which brushes to use (taklon from post above?) AND, what to do about speed of adhesive drying.  Doesn't it get all gummed up before too long and mess up the brush?

OK.  Stopped at craft store and got a small package of taklon brushes.
Wish me luck as I try freehanding glitter tats!

The taklon brush I got is so far working for me.  I tried Leah's design on myself.  I can't remember if I posted it or not.  Here's how it turned out.

Yes was only painter..

I just sacrifice brushes from my normal kit, older ones, or less expensive art brushes than i'd use for my paint kit (ie not sables). The glue/ remover does seem to knacker them faster than paint as in MUCH faster. Where possible I use the glue from a little drippy bottle, does better dots n fine lines then.

Is just the same as painting but you/ the brush gets sticky so need wiping down/ swapping out a lot.

I don't know......  While I would usually shy away from stencils,
I have to say that I think the stencil-tattoos do look better than the freehand ones.  Even from such excellent artists as I see here.
I'm sure I would like them just fine, I'm sure the customers would like them just fine, but I'm seriously thinking about dropping my 'pride' and getting some stencils.

I agess Alison.  I think that b/c the glue is not as watery as the paints, it is hard to get the crisp edges you all achieve with the face paints.
Therefore, I have boughten a fortune in stencils.  But, I have yet to get a glitter tattoo booking.  Argh.
It is so dead here in Windsor when it comes to gigs.  Sorry, Windsor, Ontario Canada.

I just don;t know how to get my name out there.  Huh?

Bought 2 stencils from snazaroo at a trade show. One has 3 fairies on it. Figured when I have LONG lines, I can create a beautiful background and do silhouettes of fairies on top. Quick and easy. I also purchased the tire track one. Boys get such a kick out of looking run over. This one I could do by hand, but it will save me a lot of time and look crisper than by brush.

You are all great painters. Using stencils isn't cheating if you use them occasionally or for glitter tats - it's a shortcut!

Yep and there's so many times we need a shortcut, because customers are requesting fast faces.

I to just purchased some stencils from Snazaroo, I got the tire track, the stars, the fairies, the scales and the brick wall! I tried them all out on myself first, when I got them! I just love them, they are so soft and seem to just mold to the face, so if you are doing the tire track on  a slant, it will kind of just cling to the nose area, and you can just walk your fingers over it to continue sponging. But on the fairie one, I didn't care for all three on the same sheet! Kind of difficult to move around if you are trying to just do one of them, so I cut them into three stencils, love it alote more. Here is a couple pics one of the brick wall and one on the tire track. I do want to get the snow flake one for winter time. I do have some soft vynal that I saved from I don't know what, I am going to try and cut some from that!

I have not yet tried any type of glitter tattoos. I do get the idea on how to do them, but how long do you let the glue dry before appling glitter? Until it is just tacky to the touch? I think I am going to try a few on myself, just free handed to get the feel of them. Could I just use eye lash glue to practice? I do have some of that from my eye lash days! HAHAHAHAHA I think it might have belonged to one of my daughters! I do know their is special glue to purchase just for glitter tattoo's, but I thought for practice the eyelash glue would work. From viewing the pictures of stencil verses freehand! I do love the sharp edges of the sencils, guess I will have to oder some from somewhere! Ohhh more stuff to carry around!
