I am posting this to show any of you that might be interested in wall murals. This is something that I did for the Brazoria County Cavalry out of Brazoria, Texas. The room that the wall is in is part of an old school for black children way back when there was segregation. They have been taking the old school and renovating using the rooms for the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Heritage Museum, and the Brazoria County Cavalry, of Brazoria County, Texas.
The Brazoria Co. Cavalry is a non-profit organization that is made of up basically anyone who either owns a motorcycle or car. It is open to anyone. The group is made up of firefighters, emt's, and law enforcement. This was started by Tracy Reid 2 years ago to either send off, welcome home, or bury our soldiers. It's totally free to soldiers as well as any veteran that was never welcomed home properly and who lives is Brazoria or Matagorda Co., Tx. When someone comes home, leaves, or is buried that is part of the armed forces, they get together as a group, with flags waving, sirens blaring, and alot of people parade right up to where the person is, present them with a flag and a special thankyou. This is very heart warming. I just wanted to share this with each of you. If you know someone that has had someone in the military that is serving now, or going, or who has died or is a Veteran, it will touch your heart. Thing is, most Vietnam Vets don't discuss this openly, but the ones that have seen this break down in tears.
I paianted this wall for free as a tribute to the soldiers. I encourage you to visit this website...www.brazoriacountycavalry.com
