Nice! So, you don't boil your eggs first? All the fluids inside the egg eventually dry up? I've never tried it that way before. I've heard of blowing the innards of an egg out first and then using them for crafts, but never leaving them as they were. I guess I always thought they'd get stinky, like a rotten egg. I really LOVE this thread. It's opened my eyes to how many interests we as face painters have in common. So many of the interests everyone has posted are things I've either wanted to try or have loved or dabbled in a bit myself. Now that I've been really thinking about it, things from my past keep popping into my mind. I love decorating eggs each year, never as beautiful as the ones you've posted Wina... you've given me some new things to try for next year. I love carving pumpkins for Halloween, decorating and making ornaments at Christmas time. I've dabbled in making homemade gingerbread houses. Making them to resemble mine and my Mother-in-laws house. Did some craft painting and a tiny bit of oil painting and sewing. I went to Cosmetology school, when I was 17. I've always wanted to learn how to knit, how to do woodcrafts, cake decorating, doughcrafting and miniatures. I made a mini model of a hair salon, while going to beauty school that I was pretty proud of at the time.. Yesterday, I was browsing a yard sale across the street and came across a book on doughcrafting, I snatched that up because that's something I've always wanted to try. I think I've never really took the time to intensely learn and work at any of these until face painting. I've always wanted to hit on something fun and interesting and that I could also make money doing. It makes me think that many of us as face painters have a love and interest in crafting type things. I remember at one time I was intensely studying how to make homemade soaps and potpourri. I did end up making some homemade potpourri, but never got out of the pondering phase for the soaps. Did I mention I collect TONS of recipes? Not just for baking, but for all sorts of concoctions. O.k. sorry for the long ramble! Maybe we need a crafting section.

Family tradition every Christmas, since the girls (four of them) were very very young! Even the older ones, who have already moved out and began their own homes, come home for Christmas to make Gingerbread House on Christmas Eve! I love it but it scares me and makes me affraid! There is also a tradition after the gingerbread house is made, and I always have to be looking over my shoulder at all times, look to the left, look to the right, never take your eyes off anyone! But this past Christmas (2010) I was the victim! Hadn't been taged in 8 years! I dodged the bullet, but it not this past year! Can you guess what happend? To be continued! HAHAHAHAHA

I think I'll just leave it to the Off Topic section for now, but it's something to think about.

I love the walls too! What kind of paint did you use for that? I'm thinking about trying something on my kids walls.

Acrylic for the walls Sherry, and a good clear topcoat to go with the wall, satin, semigloss, gloss, etc.
Thanks guys I just like painting.
