When Im not painting faces I am running the balloon side of my business.  My company is called Balloon People and Face Painting is a part of it.  I also have several caricature artists, magicians, balloon artists as well as glitter tattoos, air-brush tattoos and henna artists.  Ive been doing balloon decor since 1990 and since starting my own business, it has taken off with incredible tenacity and we are one of the top companies in Austin now with city accounts as well as university accounts.  In 2009 we built a 14' sculoture of President Obama for a community college's presidential leadership conference...we also took an international award for the xculpture...if only I could show it to Obama!  Since I cant seem to get a pic to him, I certainly can show it here.  Maybe in his spare time, he cruises Face Painting Forums...LOL  There is alsoa pic of the Under the Sea columns as inspired by Stephen Mayhew of Conwin.

Wow, I love it!  I need to hide my balloon work from you.  Smiley  I had a little girl fussing over my butterfly the other day.  Even though she'd asked for a butterfly and I told her it was a butterfly, she kept saying, "What is it?  That's a butterfly?"  I think my balloons aren't passing the "what is it test" yet.   Grin

Oh I just love that sock monkey!  And I love the colors too!  I had a sock monkey when I was very young, and I just loved my "monk"  My daughters boy friend, bought her a sock monkey for christmas last year. It is the biggest sock monkey I have ever seen! It is almost 5 foot tall! Needless to say it sleeps on her bed with her!

Emily looks so sweet hugging her sock monkey.  Smiley  It looks like the longer wait made it all the more special!

Easter is over, but every year of my life (well almost) I have been helping color eggs on Good Friday. As I got older, they get more complex. Over the last 10 years, I have been using permanent markers and the food dyes for backgrounds to get great looks. Using metallic markers is VERY nice. Even if you just doodle squiggly lines and curly Qs, they look so impressive. Both my mom and my mom-in-law have been keeping the eggs I give them. They each have 10 or more eggs displayed around their homes in egg holders or even in the egg rack in her fridge! The egg yolks dry up quickly, so you hear the soft rattle when you shake them.

Last year I tried using the adhesive foam pieces to decorate. It looking great and probably had less of a breaking chance if they hit the floor! I also enjoy making holiday decorations from the craft foam. Some sheets, scissors and a hold puncher and I am happy for days. My hubby doesn't care for all the little foam hole punched circles everywhere but it's a great time. Then I give them to our families for holiday gifts!
