I'm starting the Fall Contest. It will run until October 31st. The theme will be Halloween/Fall Harvest. It will be a free for all type of contest. You can post your pictures in this thread. When you post, please describe the steps you took in creating the design and the face paint brands and colors used.
The prize will be the Diamond FX 6 Color Neon Palette. Just as an FYI, the neons are not cosmetic compliant, but they seem to be very popular and I thought I'd include them in this contest for anyone who would like to try them out. They're for special effects and not for everyday cosmetic use.
Here's a description of the palette: Neon blue, neon green, neon violet, neon magenta, neon orange and neon yellow. The neon makeups contain special uv ingredients that glow under black light. Includes 2 artists brushes. 10 grams per color

While I was looking at other face painters' websites, I came across of a face design where the nose was shortened so an enormous smile could be painted. It was my inspiration. This is my 6 year old son. I used all Snazaroo products. I shortened his nose and started the mouth right under the tip of his real nose. I took the smile to the very edge of his chin so I could get the biggest smile possible. I extended his eyebrows into his forehead. Facial lines and warts were done in black and highlighted in white. Posting this pix on my board is dangerous for me. It is a bit more time involved than the average, but it is a major crowd pleaser, or should I say scarer?!

Wow, love these entries guys! I'm glad we went with a Halloween/Fall theme, because I think these are really going to help with some ideas with the events I have coming up next month. I can be at such a loss for scary faces at times!
Sophies, maybe this is one design you can up the price on to account for the extra time involved. At a pay per face anyway.

Ive chosen to post this up not as a contender as such but I thought that it would be a useful design for halloween.i like to keep all my designs away from the mouth for kids cos they last longer. It was done with wild orchid paradise applied with a sponge and blended into snaz red.The skull is of course diamond fx with a little yellow snaz and to finish diamond fx black drag blended at the top of the wings.

Hi Vixx,
I wish I could see this, but for some reason, it's not showing up on my end, just the square with a little red X in it. I wish I was more computer savvy to know what causes these things. Is there any way, you can post it in your user gallery? Maybe that would help.

It's real good Sherry. I can only see it the size of a postage stamp, and I can tell that it's real good. The "wings" seem to have more paint at the top (where it starts with purple bfore blending to red), and then I think it FADES OUT to no paint at the bottom. And I wish I could see the 'face' better. When you say Diamond FX "Of Course", Vixx, I'm guessing that you mean Diamond FX White? Or is there a 'special glow' diamond fx or something?

The neon makeups contain special uv ingredients that glow under black light..... Ooops - I just remembered where I'd find the answer to this question. The neon makeup glows under black light. So is that what you mean, Vixx? Oh, I just decided that I hope I get it together to enter This contest! I am interested in the paints although I wouldn't run out to buy them because I'm concerned about the 'not cosmetic compliant'. What does that mean?

It means that they contain an ingredient or ingredients, I'm not sure which, that have not been approved by the FDA for use on the skin.

It means it might cause an acne breakout. Yes its approved for the skin, but it may have factors in it to clog pores, etc. Its probably ok to use, but I wouldnt use it on myself everyday (I already have oily skin) or put it on acne-prone people.

I finally see it. Nice Vixx, love the devil skull!
I sure wish I knew what causes pictures to sometimes show up and sometimes not to on my monitor.

Here's my first attempt in any face painting comp' : This is my creation, a creature not to be messed with on a halloween night! I used all Grimas paints. I painted the white eye and teeth on first using a brush, then added the yellow and green sides with a sponge. I split the face in half with a red scar/stitches. Added in the red gums and inner mouth.Blended some black into the green and around that eye. Added the yellow pupil for one eye and outlined in black where needed to finish. It took me just under 10minutes and scared the living daylights out of my (hahahard man hubby) when he came home from a nightshift. Ahhh, the giggles us face painters have

#2 round, Snaz red, painted the "muscle" #2 round, Snaz white, painted the eyeball #0 round, DFX white, added in white strands to the muscle #2 round, Snaz (light?) brown, painted the iris (?) sponged Snaz black onto eyelid; cleaned it up with Snaz black and #2 round #2 round, Snaz red, added blood and muscle clinging to eyeball #0 round, DFX black, outlined eyeball/muscle strands #0 round, DFX white, accents to eyeball Then, attempt to close the one eye while looking at the "eyeball" with the other, but at the same time, attempting to not scrunch up and distort the eye/wound...tricky!
